Description
Cryptococcus is a pathogenic yeast that causes opportunistic infection, especially in the immunocompromised patient. It mainly infects the central nervous system and causes meningitis. Cryptococcal lung disease is also an important clinical outcome, leading to severe pneumonia with respiratory failure.
