Lymphocytic choriomeningitis (LCM) is an infectious disease caused by Lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV), an arenavirus in the Arenaviridae family of -ssRNA viruses, and transmitted by rodents. LCMV was the first isolated in 1933 in St. Louis, USA.
