This archaeal enzyme catalyses the last step in the biosynthesis of tetrahydromethanopterin, a folate analogue used in methanogenesis. The enzyme, characterized from the archaea Methanosarcina mazei and Methanocaldococcus jannaschii, is an iron-sulfur flavoprotein. cf. EC
