KEGG   ENZYME: 2.3.1.315
Entry
EC 2.3.1.315                Enzyme
Name
succinyl-CoA:cyclohexane-1-carboxylate CoA transferase;
Gmet_3304 (locus name)
Class
Transferases;
Acyltransferases;
Transferring groups other than aminoacyl groups
Sysname
succinyl-CoA---cyclohexane-1-carboxylate CoA-transferase
Reaction(IUBMB)
succinyl-CoA + cyclohexane-1-carboxylate = succinate + cyclohexane-1-carbonyl-CoA [RN:R13299]
Reaction(KEGG)
R13299
Substrate
succinyl-CoA [CPD:C00091];
cyclohexane-1-carboxylate [CPD:C09822]
Product
succinate [CPD:C00042];
cyclohexane-1-carbonyl-CoA [CPD:C09823]
Comment
The enzyme, characterized from the bacterium Geobacter metallireducens, participates in an anaerobic degradation pathway for cyclohexane-1-carboxylate. In vitro, the enzyme can use butanoyl-coA as a CoA donor with greater efficiency than succinyl-CoA.
