Bunyamwera fever is an infectious disease caused by Bunyamwera virus (BUNV), an orthobunyavirus in the order Bunyavirales of -ssRNA viruses, and transmitted by Aedes and Anopheles mosquitoes. BUNV was first isolated in 1943 in Uganda.
